Rustavi 2 report the US State Department's human rights report - downplaying all the negative comments and concentrating, particularly visually, on a piece of positive commentary.
Having ignored the report for most of the day, they covered it on their 6pm bulletin (above). A longer report was then broadcast on the 9pm bulletin (below).
But, even if they do mention in passing attacks on media freedom and the right to demonstrate the station seemingly have made no effort to ask any official of the Georgian government to comment on the report's very serious allegations of human rights abuse in Georgia for either report. Parliamtarians are asked at 9pm - but not the people actually responsible. And, of course, by 9pm the story has been reworked to say much more about Russia.
The station had footage of Mikheil Saakashvili being asked about the report and commenting on it: this was broadcast ealier by Maestro. But the station does not see any part of its journalistic role as holding the administration to account on behalf of its viewers, so even the comments of Georgian president were not going to be screened.
