The Georgian defence ministry has announced that every serving military and civilian employee will be interviewed to see if they "meet necessary requirements".

Only those that are judged to do so will remain in post, Salome Makharadze, the department's head of public affairs, has stated.

Georgia's armed forces are headed by Devi Chankotadze who was trained by Communist military academies in the Soviet Union and then China. The defence minister is Bacho Akhalaia who has been described as a psychopath by the US government funded Radio Liberty/Radio Free Europe.
