The new US ambassador arrived in Tbilisi this evening and immediately made clear the changing balance of US - Georgian relations by emphasising the need for the country to enjoy a free media.
John Bass was ratified by the United States Congress in the summer and has been in post since September, but today marked his arrival in Tbilisi.
