We reported that Mikheil Saakashvili was coming to London last month but it took until today for the president's press office to confirm it to the Georgian media.
Even so, confusion over the president's programme continues.
Gruzia Online - accusing the president's press office of "sleeping" over its failure to advertise the president's trip - say that Saakashvili's speech to Chatham House (the Royal Institute for International Affairs) was to a closed meeting. It was not - indeed we hope to post some audio clips from the meeting shortly (especially important given the claim by Georgian media that the president's speech has been misreported by the Russian media).
