Andy Garcia's publicists have confirmed to georgiamediacentre.com that the star is "negotiating" to play the role of President Mikheil Saakashvili in Renny Harlin's Georgia, currently being filmed in the south of the Caucasus republic.
Although no deal has been concluded they expect that he will play the role.
Pre-publicity for the film has not been positive outside Georgia: internet review site Rotten Tomatoes called it "rotten idea of the week" earlier this year.
